Why Not You 🌟...

🎉 A Proud Moment as a Parent and Coach

This past week has been a special one for my family. My younger son achieved a lifelong dream—committing to play Division I hockey next year at Quinnipiac University. It’s a goal he’s been working toward since he was just a little kid lacing up his skates for the first time.

As a dad, I couldn’t be prouder. As a coach and physical therapist, it reminds me of something bigger: dreams can come true if you’re willing to do the work, even when the odds are stacked against you.

🏆 Our Athletes Are Doing Big Things Too

This summer at Whole Health Solutions and Sports Performance, we’ve had the privilege of working with so many incredible athletes chasing their dreams. Many of them are now heading off to play college sports—hockey, lacrosse, baseball, rowing—at the Division I, II, and III level. A few have even earned the honor of competing on the national stage with Team USA.

Every single one of them started the same way: with a dream. And at some point, I can almost guarantee someone told them (or their parents):

  • “Why are you wasting your money?”

  • “Your kid will never play in college.”

  • “Everyone ends up in beer league anyway.”

But here’s the thing: while yes, at the very end of the road most athletes do end up in the same place, somebody has to be on those college and professional teams. Why can’t it be you?

📊 The Odds Are Tough—but Possible

The statistics are sobering. Fewer than 5% of hockey players will ever suit up for a Division I program. The numbers shrink even further when you start talking about professional sports.

But every year, new rosters are filled. New players step into those jerseys. And every single one of them once faced the same doubts, the same naysayers, the same obstacles.

The difference? They kept working. They believed in the possibility. Their families supported them. They had coaches, trainers, and mentors in their corner.

đŸ’Ș Dreams Beyond Sports

At Whole Health Solutions, we’re honored to be part of that journey for so many young athletes. But it’s not just about sports. For our adult clients, it’s about chasing dreams too—whether that’s climbing a mountain, getting back on the pickleball court, or simply feeling strong and confident in daily life.

Dreams don’t expire. Goals don’t vanish because of age. Whether you’re 16 chasing a scholarship or 60 chasing an adventure, we believe the same truth:

👉 Somebody’s got to do it. Why not you?

🙌 Congratulations and Keep Going

So here’s to my son, to our student-athletes heading off to college, to the kids still grinding it out in middle school and high school, and to the adults who are pushing themselves every day:

  • Congratulations on your hard work.

  • Congratulations on pursuing your dream when the odds say otherwise.

  • Congratulations for proving that “somebody has to do it”—and it very well could be you.

And yes, this is a little bit of a humble brag. I’m proud of my son. I’m proud of our athletes. And I’m proud of the community we’ve built where people come to chase big goals. We can’t wait to see what dreams come true next.
