I’ve always loved reading, and that includes poetry. I know that is probably hard for many of you...
Dear Gary,...A Letter to My Future Self 🌟...
Dear Future Gary,
As you read this five years from now, I hope you're feeling fulfilled, healthy, and proud of the life you've built. This letter is a reflection of your five-year goals, a roadmap of the life you hoped to create—guided by intention, clarity, and consistency. You’ve always believed that when you put something into the universe, you begin shaping your decisions around it, whether you realize it or not. This is your vision for the future.
💸 Financial Freedom & Independence Goals
Your vision of financial independence was about more than money — it was about freedom of choice. You dreamed that you and Jess would become work-optional, able to work because you love what you do, not because you have to.
By now, you’ve ideally paid for both kids’ college education in full and completely paid off your home — maybe even sold it to gain even more freedom and flexibility. Your hope was to live with financial security, doing meaningful work, free from financial pressure.
🏢 Business Growth & Purposeful Work
Professionally, you envisioned growing Whole Health Solutions and Sports Performance into a thriving business with three locations, continuing your mission to improve community health through physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and whole-body care.
You hoped to lead a passionate team of professionals who felt energized and inspired by their work — people who found their purpose by helping others live healthier lives. Building a workplace culture that allowed others to thrive was just as important as the services you delivered.
👨👩👧👦 Family Goals & Meaningful Relationships
You pictured Ashton having graduated from college and Kaiden diving into his college experience. But your dream wasn’t just about milestones — it was about seeing them thriving and joyful, excited to embrace the world with optimism and curiosity.
You wanted strong, lasting family relationships. That meant quality time, shared experiences, and mutual support among your immediate and extended family. You and Jess have always valued connection, and you hoped that in five years, those bonds would be stronger than ever.
💪 Health, Fitness & Longevity
Your health and fitness goals were rooted in action, not just intention. You wanted to maintain a healthy weight, increase your strength and mobility, and feel even better than you did in 2025.
You’ve preached for years about building a strong healthspan — living not just longer but better. This was your pledge to yourself to stay consistent, stay active, and treat your health like the valuable asset it is.
🤝 Friendships & Social Connections
The area you knew needed more focus was your social life. You wanted to develop deeper friendships, meet new people, and become more active in your community.
You believed that some of your best friends were still out there — waiting to be met. Whether it was joining local groups, attending events, or just putting yourself out there more often, your goal was to create more meaningful social connections and support Jess in doing the same.
🚀 Living With Intention
So, how close are you to the life you envisioned?
If you didn’t check every box — that’s okay. This letter was never about perfection. It was about intentional living — creating a life by design, not default. It was about making daily decisions that pulled you closer to the future you wanted.
And maybe, just maybe… you’re even further along than you ever imagined.
With belief and purpose,
Gary (2025)
