Recommitting to Healthy Habits this Holiday Season...☃️🎉
I’ve been working long hours, getting less sleep, exercising less consistently, and spending less time with family and friends (except Peter). When those pillars start to wobble, I notice other things slipping, too: my nutrition isn’t as dialed in, my energy dips and my overall sense of well-being isn’t where I want it to be. The scale has crept up a bit, but more than that, I just don’t feel like me.
So, this Thanksgiving season, I’m recommitting to living what I preach. My personal goals include:
- 🌟 Getting back on track with mindful, balanced eating.
- 🧘 Meditating every morning to set the tone for my day.
- 📚 Reading daily to nurture my mind and unwind.
- 👨👩👧👦 Prioritizing family and friends by consolidating my schedule
- 🏋️ Exercising at least five days a week to boost my energy
It’s not about perfection—it’s about consistency. And it’s about honoring the values we believe in so we can better support you.
If you have slipped or are concerned about staying on track during the holiday season, here are some tips to help!
Why Start Now?
Thanksgiving is a perfect time to press “reset.” It’s not just about setting goals—it’s about showing gratitude for your body, mind, and spirit. Starting small, healthy habits now can help you navigate the holidays with more energy, focus, and joy. You don’t need to wait until January to begin feeling better—you can start today.
1️⃣ Exercise: Move with Purpose
Finding time to move, even in small ways, can do wonders.
- Start with 15 minutes—take a brisk walk or do some light stretching. 🚶♂️🍂
- Join one of our group classes for a fun and motivating workout. 🏋️♀️💃
- Build momentum with 2-3 short workouts a week and increase as you go.
2️⃣ Nutrition: Small Swaps Add Up
The holidays don’t have to derail your nutrition.
- Focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods first—think lean proteins and colorful veggies. 🥗🍗
- Enjoy indulgent treats in moderation, but be mindful of portion sizes. 🎂💡
- Keep healthy snacks (nuts, fruit, or yogurt) on hand to curb cravings. 🍎🥜
3️⃣ Mental Health: Gratitude is Powerful
Your mindset matters, especially during the holiday hustle.
- Each morning, write down 3 things you’re thankful for—it sets a positive tone for the day. 📝💛
- Try 10 minutes of meditation to help reduce stress and improve focus. 🧘♀️✨
- Celebrate small wins: progress, not perfection, is the goal. 🎉💪
4️⃣ Connection: Strengthen Relationships
Spending quality time with loved ones isn’t just good for the soul—it’s great for your health, too! Meaningful connections can reduce stress, boost happiness, and remind us of what truly matters.
- 👨👩👧👦 Prioritize togetherness: Consolidate your schedule to make room for family and friends.
- 🎲 Plan activities: You can host a game night, go on a group walk, or try a new recipe together.
- 💬 Stay present: Put down the phone and engage fully during your time with loved ones.
5️⃣ Consistency is Key
Small, daily actions lead to big results.
- Go to bed and wake up at consistent times to improve sleep. 🛌🌙
- Keep a water bottle with you to stay hydrated throughout the day. 🚰✅
- Set realistic, attainable goals—like adding 5 extra minutes of movement to your routine.
Let’s Do This Together!
I’m sharing my goals with you because I want to hold myself accountable, but also to remind you that we’re all in this together. Whether you’re just starting out or getting back on track, now is the perfect time to take those first steps.
